After several years off due to the pandemic, we  finished up our 2022-2023 Boerne Blaze sports year with a bang! About 170 athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers attended our first end of year sports banquet since 2019!!

Held in the beautifully decorated gym (thank you to Janie and Linda!) at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, we celebrated all of our athletes and coaches.

14 of 17 new athletes since 2020 proudly received their “letter” jackets with introductions of their families to the Boerne Blaze group. We thanked all of our head coaches and staff coaches for their hard work, time, efforts, and care of our athletes. We announced a few new exciting things coming up: Fall duathlon with the YMSL — Young Mens’ Service League; Disc golf; Blacksmith Grill monthly fundraiser partnership).

We honored our longtime dedicated volunteer KENDALL LEININGER for her 7 years and over 700 hours with us! She has graduated high school and is on to college in the fall. She has been volunteering with us since she was 12 years old. Kendall also received a recognition plaque from Special Olympics Texas with a special presentation from the area 20 director.

And then…we were so happy to recognize several athletes, volunteers, and coaches! This year we awarded 2 people in each category since this banquet represents our time together since 2020!
