What a wonderful and fun September we had! And more to come the month of October!
Under the direction of head coach Sherri Cox, we took 20 athletes and 2 unified partners to our area swim meet on Saturday, Sept. 16, earning a lot of gold, silver, and bronze hardware!!
9 of our swimmers continue to practice and will travel to Texas A&M in College Station, Oct. 19-21 to compete in the Special Olympics Texas Fall Classic State Swim meet!                       
    
After 2 months of Top Golf practices, we ended that season on Sept. 27 with a unified tournament – several Boerne Police Officers joined us as partners! All 7 of our athletes competed, had great games, and most of all, had lots of fun! Thank you, Top Golf!

The BETTER TOGETHER duathlon practices have begun. This is a gift given to us from the Boerne Young Men’s Service League (YMSL). YMSL is a national group of high school boys and their mothers who provide service to several non-profit groups.  Every year, each local group chooses one organization to be the recipient of their ULTIMATE GIFT—a BIG service project! Boerne Blaze was chosen this year! YMSL boys are paired up with our athletes to practice biking and running/walking. The big showcase event is scheduled for Oct. 28 at 10:00 am at the Boerne ISD stadium. Come out to see our costumed teams showing their skills, having great fun, and showing the community that we are “BETTER TOGETHER!” (This is not a fundraiser and no cost is involved.)

Bowling practices continue on Mondays. The area tournament is in the first part of November. Those alley cats are really rolling!

Boerne Blaze triathlon team is growing by leaps and bounds! About 33 athletes will begin practicing swimming, biking, and/or running –starting Oct. 3!. Athletes will train to do the entire event individually or be a part of a relay team. Great exercise! Great fun! Great fellowship! Wonderful feeling of accomplishment! 

Our Boerne Blaze Organization continues to grow. We have added several new athletes in the past few months. We have also added several new coaches! We are always looking for new dedicated volunteers! We are also getting ready to begin a new sport: cheer & dance. Stay tuned for that one!
And, as always, “Keep loving, laughing, and moving!!”
