We began November with our area bowling tournament at Bandera Bowl in San Antonio. Our athletes love bowling, and all did well! They always have so much fun with this sport and love to go to competition! 

We ended November with the beginning of our next sport - basketball! This is another very popular sport. Basketball will go until the BIG GAME on February 8 at Champion High School. 

Our growing sport of triathlon finished up with an area meet on December 2. We now have 22 athletes compete either as individuals or on relay teams in swimming, biking (stationary bike), and running on an indoor track. We had one relay and 2 individuals from Rockwall come join in the fun.

But the very well attended and especially exciting event on December 2 in the evening was the highlight of our 2023 year! Boerne Blaze Special Olympics was the lead float for the ever-popular Boerne Weihnachts (Christmas) parade!! We decorated three-wheeled bikes and a float and had lots of athletes, families, and coaches walking. And in a red corvette in the very front, was our designated Grand Marshal REBECCA STONE, well-deserving recipient of the “Most Inspirational Athlete” at the State Fall Classic Competition at Texas A&M in October. Our friends from Rockwall even joined us for this fun time! Everyone had a blast, Boerne Blaze was very visible to the community, and the BBSO family all pitched in to help put this together. 

So now Boerne Blaze wishes everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! We will see you again in 2024!!
