November 2026

October is behind us and what a month it was! Pickleball finished its season in fine fashion! Practices were held at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in the gym. Head coach Christy asked all participants to bring food items for St. Mark’s “little free pantry” in gratitude for the use of the facility for practices. See attached photo for the amount of food collected! Thank you, Coach Christy, and everyone who participated! (photo)

Boerne Blaze took 6 swimmers to the Special Olympics State Fall Classic swim meet in Midland, TX. In addition to bringing home lots of hardware, we are so proud of the team in how they handled themselves and their character. Coach Jamie said “Our athletes are stand outs in so many ways! I was so impressed with the incredible sportsmanship that  they show each other as well as other teams. They handled big wins and a few disappointments with grace.” (photo)

Way to represent us! Swimmers: Kylah, Rebecca, Maripaz, Carley, Sean, and Isabella!!! And thanks to Coaches & volunteers: Sherri, Jamie, Angela, Jenn, Hayley, & Terrie!

With grant funding from SOTX, we purchased two special bicycles for our cycling team. One was custom fitted for Ava, one of our newer athletes, who named it her “pirate ship!” (photo)

Bowling will continue throughout the month, ending with an area competition in early December.

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, please take some time to reflect on how very blessed we are…in so many ways. And I, for one, thank you for the high privilege of serving this special population called Boerne Blaze!
