Boerne Blaze has been blazing through the fall! Our first BBSO season of pickleball was a huge success! Lots of athletes came out to learn about this exciting and popular sport. Coach Christy  did a stand-up job teaching the basics to a variety of skill levels. The season ended with an exhibition for the athletes to demonstrate what they learned, receive medals, and enjoy a pizza party!

Triathlon practices have been going hot (and I do mean hot!) and heavy. Athletes come 2 afternoons per week to practice swimming, riding stationary bicycles and running / walking on the beautiful Omega Retreat Center grounds. The season ends with a fun competition on Nov. 21 at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. Our tri athletes have really been working so hard on their endurance and speed. As the triathlon head coach, I cannot say enough of how proud I am of all of them!

And the popular sport of bowling is well underway at the Boerne Turn Verein bowling alley. Due to numbers, 2 weekly practice sessions are offered. The wonderful sound of  pins being knocked down and  cheers for  teammates is inspiring. Bowling will continue into the first week of December for the area tournament. Following that, December will be time for our Boerne Blaze team to rest up and enjoy holiday time with their friends and family. Basketball will begin right away in January.
