Beth Darnell Tennis Head Coach Beth Darnell came late to the game of tennis. It wasn’t until her mid-40’s that she took up the sport. Realizing quickly that it is a sport to last a lifetime she enjoyed it because it provided a fun way to exercise, allowed one to spend time outside in the beautiful Hill Country and enjoy the camaraderie of other people. It wasn’t long before her two sons started playing and then surpassing her abilities; both boys playing on the varsity teams of their respective high schools. It was her son’s love of tennis and desire to serve the community that created the tennis program in place today through Boerne Blaze. Beth’s sons learned valuable leadership principles, the joy of giving to the community and friendship in unlikely places. Prior to moving to Texas, Beth worked as a Certified Industrial Hygienist in the Aerospace Industry and through an Environmental Engineering Consulting firm. The work involved worker health & safety and environmental protection. Today, Beth works part-time for a consulting company conducting workplace health hazard assessments.
