ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT
Neil The November athlete in the spotlight is someone I have known since he was about 4 years old. His family are pillars of the Boerne Blaze Special Olympics team. Neil is 28 years old and graduated from Boerne High School. He participates in most of the sports we offer: basketball, pickleball, triathlon, bowling and cycling. He says his favorite is bowling! |
Neil lives at home with his father, Rahul and his mother, Gopi. Here is the kicker—they live in Kingsland (about an hour and a half away from Boerne) where they manage the family business: Lake LBJ Inn. Neil also helps at the Inn. |
In his free time, Neil likes to play his videos on his Xbox. He loves to hang with his friends, watch WWE, You Tube NFL and college football. He also enjoy taking family trips. From Jenny, Boerne Blaze Head of Delegation: When this family moved from Boerne to Kingsland several years ago, I was greatly saddened and didn’t think they would be able to keep up with Boerne Blaze anymore. But wow! After a little hiatus, they are now traveling back and forth 2 -3 times per week to attend practices and events. Mom Gopi helps with events. Neil is still a multi-sport athlete, and Rahul helps coach and volunteer just as before. This shows such amazing dedication by a very special family with Boerne Blaze. We are so glad they are still a part of our family! As for Neil, he has shown tremendous growth in all of his sports. He is a friend to everyone (you can tell by how few pictures we have of Neil by himself – always with friends!) and he can always tell you the upcoming weather forecast! |
