ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT
Mark Mark joined Boerne Blaze last sports year (2023-2024) and in fact, received his letter jacket at the kick-off party in July. He will be 35 years old this month. Mark has participated and competed in the Special Olympics sports of swimming and cycling. He says his favorite sport is the bike! (and man, can he ride fast!) Mark is on the board of the Boerne Aquaplex as a self-advocate. He offers great ideas to the project. |
Combining his involvement with Operation Christmas Child and his participation with our Jericho Christian Fellowship Ministry (for special needs), Mark organized a very successful packing party last summer. The group packed 75 boxes to send to needy children in other countries. |
Mark lives with his father and mother (Anthony and Kathy) in Boerne. He has a brother who is married. When Mark went on his first mission trip to Mexico in the 7th grade, he sensed God calling him to mission work. He has been to India for a vision trip. He currently works for the Boys and Girls Club in Boerne and volunteers for Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF) on a part-time basis. He loves serving people and going on mission trips. Mark even lists his hobbies as “reading and doing mission work.” From Jenny, Boerne Blaze Head of Delegation: Mark has a beautiful heart and soul and genuinely cares about others. He came to Boerne Blaze first through wanting to work with Jericho to pack boxes for OCC- but became an athlete after that. He works very hard at swimming – but cycling seems to be a breeze to him! I am so happy he is a part of our Boerne Blaze Family – in so many ways! |
